We're so pleased to bring you these beautiful honey pots and raw New Zealand honey, from Our Land of Milk & Honey - an organic Waikato farm, run by the same family for over a century. Each handmade honey pot (and ceramic spoon) comes with a jar of raw New Zealand honey for you to put inside.
Handmade Honey Pot with Ceramic Spoon
The clay is sourced in New Zealand and has been mixed with clay from the farm. The pots were fired to 1250ºC to create a look and density that is stone-like and is much stronger than earthenware clays. A domestic glaze called ‘pearl white’ has been used and is slightly translucent, which reveals the clay underneath.
While every effort has been made for the pots to resemble each other, no two pots are the same and each lid has been crafted to fit the pot it is pared with. Metal utensils can cause honey to crystalise, so the potter has created spoons as a perfect accessory for the honey pot.
Size: honey pot is approx 16cm tall and approx 7cm diameter
Honey pot has a glazed outer and inner, with unglazed rim, the spoon has an unglazed handle and glazed head
Clean with detergent and water or pop in the dishwasher (don’t place the spoon and pot together in dishwasher)
Your taste of a small batch of only 200 jars of raw honey from OLMH's 2018 harvest. Because this farm has such diverse pasture and a significant wetland area, the bees can draw on a range of nectar sources. Floral notes are seasonal and this 2018 harvest has prominent notes of blood orange, jasmine and rose hip. The glass jars were sourced in New Zealand and carefully selected for their sturdiness and strong lines.
