Cofounder and Creative Director of BAINA, Bailey Meredith, on some of her favourite moments and inspirations lately...
Wearing
I’ve had my eye on a jacket from Rika Studio’s collaboration with Mackintosh. The silhouette is relaxed yet purposeful, with oversized military style pockets and a water-repellant finish. It has that kind of quiet utility I return to again and again. Timeless, with an ease that makes it feel essential.
Listening to
The Row monthly playlists on Spotify. They offer an unexpected mix that manages to feel both eclectic and refined. They’re perfect for discovering new artists.
Reading
I’m looking forward to reading When the Going was Good by Graydon Carter. It’s a memoir that reflects on his years at the helm of Vanity Fair during what he describes as the last golden age of magazines. The book captures the extravagant realities of print media in the 90’s — a time of lavish budgets, long lunches and glossy culture-shaping storytelling.
Podcast
While I don’t listen to podcasts regularly, I’ve really been enjoying The Rest Is History. (Apple Podcasts | Spotify) Recommended by my husband, it offers an accessible lens on a range of historical events and movements — from some of history’s most fascinating figures to pivotal events that shaped the world. The hosts bring a sense of ease and clarity to topics that can otherwise feel quite dense.
Eating/Drinking
During a recent trip to Europe, I found myself ordering the same drink again and again — Vermouth and Tonic. It’s light, subtly bitter and so refreshing. Definitely is now my go-to aperitif.
Following
I actually prefer Pinterest to Instagram.
It offers a quiet space to collect inspiration slowly — like a visual journal that unfolds naturally over time.
Looking forward to
We’ve recently purchase a house a few hours outside Sydney — a place of retreat, surrounded by native bush. We plan to slowly renovate, doing much of the work ourselves. I’m eager to start, and create a restorative space where we can slow down and disconnect from the busy day-to-day.
Dreaming of
After five weeks of travelling, I find myself longing to return to New Zealand. I’ve been dreaming of a long, immersive hike — quiet and uninterrupted. Being away only deepens my appreciation for New Zealand's serene beauty and vastness.
Admiring
I keep returning to the tones in John Zabawa’s paintings.
There’s a softness to his work that feels intentional, pared back and quietly emotive.
A recent moment
Presenting BAINA at 3 Days of Design in Copenhagen was a proud moment. To see the brand in a dedicated space — among a global community of designers — felt grounding and affirming. A reminder of how far we’ve come.
Visiting
This winter, I’ve been drawn to rituals that gently ground both body and mind. I’ve found myself returning often to Capybara Bathhouse in Sydney — a place to decompress, settle into stillness, and allow space for reflection. It’s a small but meaningful ritual, a moment of calm to reward myself after a full day.
A Sunday Favourite
I’m looking to add the Tronque Firming Butter to my routine. I’ve been using their Triple Active Body Milk while travelling and found it incredibly restorative.
The Firming Butter feels like the natural next step.
At home, I’ve just introduced our new BAINA Weave collection into my bathroom. The palette brings a subtle shift to the space, softening the mood as we settle into winter.
