Sunday Loves Spaces - Kate Lawrence Interiors

I mean, COME ON! This kitchen - designed by Kate Lawrence Interiors - absolutely stopped me in my scrolling tracks, and I just had to share it with you.

Kate's design signature is using natural materials and minimal colour to create calming spaces.

This cool-toned concrete benchtop is the perfect complement to the warm oak cabinetry, and I love how it extends up the wall as a splashback. A concrete splashback might seem like it would be 'too much', on paper, but that's the power of having a designer with vision, right?

Also love how Kate has effectively hidden the rangehood in the floating shelf design.

(Those beautiful stools are the Bobby Bar Stool by Daniel Tucker, available from Design By Them.)

Having the concrete benchtop wrap right down to the floor? *Chef's kiss*

And perhaps my favourite aspect of the entire space - that wall of tall storage cabinets, with a concealed door through to the butler's.

There is nothing 'trendy' about this project (thank goodness). Instead, it's the very definition of good design: timeless.

The choice of a circular table and woven chairs here brings a layer of visual softness into the space.

Interior design is - as much as anything else - about how objects in a space communicate with one another, how they respond to and balance one another. Kate has an artist's eye for balance - balance of lightness and weight, clean lines and organic shapes, detail and volume.

I also appreciate the overall balance Kate has created between the hulking architectural drama of those high pitched ceilings with her use of soft neutral tones and natural textures.

You know your kitchen cabinetry is top tier when it can extend seamlessly into the living space, transitioning from into living room furniture.

Ooh, and I can't omit the bathrooms from this project - SO good!

Yes to this: the same tile, laid in two different ways.

Kate's considered palette of soft oak, cool concrete and aged brass provides a through-line between the kitchen and bathrooms.

Definitely pop over and follow Kate on Instagram @katelawrenceinteriors - her previous work is equally dreamy, and I can't wait to see what she creates next!
